oUr Little Laurel’s Cookie Company STORY

As a little girl, I would spend many weekends with my grandparents since my mom was a young divorced mother working two jobs. My grandmother was passionate about baking and to keep busy, she and I would make yummy treats. My grandmother would often say "someday she and I will open our own bakery!" Since my grandparents nicknamed me Little Laurel, it is with remembrance of her and my mom that I’ve named my company Little Laurel’s Cookie Company.

As I grew up, my mom and I would bake together in the kitchen. When I became a young adult, I realized this wasn’t common among my friends. When I was young, we started a family annual tradition that we called Christmas Cookie Baking Day where my grandmother, my mom, several aunts, cousins, and myself would all gather for an entire day of cookie baking and then divide the cookies amongst our families for the holidays.

Through the years, baking has been a comforting way for me to release stress and to remember fun family memories. Although my husband, son, and I relocated to Connecticut, I have continued our tradition by baking our go to family recipes. Family gatherings meant that I would bring "The Dessert". Everyone always raved about how amazing my baked items were and commented how I always have the best tasting cookies. When I was given an opportunity after working 34 years in the financial industry to take some time to figure out what my next career should be, I landed on starting my own business of baking and designing cookies.

I hope that with every bite of my cookies you experience the passion and tradition from my family to yours. Let me be your “go to” baker for when life is too busy and you need amazing cookies for an event or just to have as a special treat in your home.
